# WeatherKit
I set up the first weatherkit on 4 May 2024. It's an [Enviro Weather](https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/enviro-weather?variant=40056776917075) from Pimoroni, mounted in a Stevenson screen. It doesn't have the wind or rain sensor, so right now it's just temperature, humidity, pressure, and light.
Because the brain of the device is a Pico W, it can connect to the home Wi-Fi network. From there it publishes its data via MQTT to the home mosquitto server running on the [[HomeAssistant|Home Assistant Yellow]].
I still need to teach HA how to parse the data that's coming in.
Other plans include:
- [ ] #project #weatherkit another enviro weather on or near the beehive, to measure the conditions inside
- [ ] #project #home-assistant an enviro grow near the fountain, to measure water level in the fountain basin? (maybe a flotation sensor is better for this than a moisture sensor)
- #project #neptune #home-assistant some device on the hot tub to measure temperature. Is it possible to sense bromine concentration?
- I have backed the [Pickup](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/supermechanical/pickup-is-a-sensor-power-tool?ref=user_menu), by Supermechanical.
- [ ] #project #weatherkit #home-assistant Originally I thought I wanted a temperature/humidity sensor in the workshop, but I doubt having the data would change any behavior.
