# simpit
- Do I want to buy a steering wheel and pedals for driving sims?
- would the simpit fit under the stairs??
It would be really cool to have the dashboard embed the devices I use. Particularly:
- Playdate (as a clock). With integrated charging cable?
- streamdeck
- phone charger
- keyboard halves
Even some devices I don't use yet, but could:
- teenage engineering field mixer, for balancing the audio stuff... This is overkill (and very expensive), but...
- if I paired that with the teenage engineering field mic it would be cool (and more expensive). Then I'd basically have to get the field recorder and the bag, right?
ooh, dashboard should probably have rackmounts for these modules (not unlike the instruments in real planes)
I have a [smallrig](https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-articulating-arm-9-5-inches-2066.html) that's great for a movable laptop shelf
- The arm side can slide back, it just has to push out a little first
- Maybe the keyboards should be able to slide out from the dashboard
- For the door latch I could use actual door latch parts! If there are multiple of them I could 3d print some sprockets and put bike chain on to coordinate them
- Or maybe the hardware store has spring catches, and pulleys for monofilament
- This idea of the side pushing (telescoping) back is starting to sound very complicated, more than the dashboard slide idea
- Maybe it doesn’t have to be complicated: maybe only half it moves. But then again, if I’m opening only half, it makes the most sense to put it on a hinge (even a soss hinge)
