Works alright! I haven't done much CAD/EDA on it yet though. It has a very long keyboard ([[Fruitbar]]) and a trackball with buttons! [[Ploopy (trackballs)#Adept|Ploopy Adept]]). I also have speakers with it, but they're out on the bench where they shouldn't be. I want to make a shelf that clamps to the monitor stand. Monitor stand: remake it out of 2040 or 4040. I don't need the monitor to move much (maybe swivel), but I like the opportunity to mount the speaker shelf on it. And the fact that it can hold more than 22lb. ## Gridfinity oh dear I just learned about gridfinity. it has a [subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/gridfinity/) and [unofficial homepage](https://gridfinity.xyz/) and everything oh no. - Screw Together Baseplate (by Kyle Warren) - 1x4 pinecil super stand (by Zack Freedman) - 2x2 hakko FX599B ([tip-cleaner](https://www.adafruit.com/product/1172) frend. by Zack Freedman) - magnet glue up jig (by DIY Brad) - baseplate magnet jig (by kmeisthax) - kennetek.github.io/gridfinity-rebuilt-openscad - is there a base plate that fits in a mini systainer? - is there a mini base plate that fits in a tiny systainer? - [Small pliers organizer](https://blog.adafruit.com/2024/08/15/small-pliers-organizer-holder-stand-3dthursday-3dprinting/) - [soldering stand for pinecil?](https://tinytoolk.it/tools/soldering-stand/) According to one of the early videos, in the perfect workshop every item 1. has a dedicated home within reach of where you'll use it 2. is exposed and in position for instant grabbing 3. shields you from accidents like spills and injuries 4. effortless to set up, super easy to put back and rearrange ## Test Stand I've seen a few products that all have a common element: a large steel base plate. For instance: - microscope - hot-air rework station - solder station with helping-hands and magnetic struts to bolt your board to. Is there a reason I can't have a multipurpose steel baseplate with easy access to voltage (for lights / fans), and a sturdy tower (for microscope / hot-air)
