# CUBE networking I have a managed network switch, the Mikrotik L009UiGS-RM ($120). One benefit of this is it's 0.5U. The downside, I've learned the hard way, is that with its rack-ears installed it needs 8.84375" (224.6mm). The 10" standard gives 8.75" (222.25mm) of an opening. Not going to fit on its factory ears, so I have to put it on a shelf (or design my own ears). This switch has an SPF+ (2.5 Gbps) port to receive a fiber connection from upstream. It has one 1 Gbps PoE-out port, and 7 other 1 Gbps ports. - [ ] #project #cube-lab make NS records for the node machine IPs - [ ] #project #cube-lab terminate SSL somewhere - [ ] #project #cube-lab configure dynamic DNS to Cloudflare - In UnifiOS, go into Settings, Internet, click on the Comcast Cable line to open a blade, change Advanced to Manual, then under Dynamic DNS "Create New". I made a whole new CloudFlare API token for this purpose, and it seems like we need one Dynamic DNS entry per hostname we want to route. - [ ] #project #cube-lab finish setting up home fiber, to increase speeds
