# Project Management

Too many unfinished projects? Too many exciting ideas, and you feel like you neve finish any of them? I have had some conversations about these problems with friends.
---
Had a great chat with someone about living with unrealistic expectations about projects. The main thing I took away from that conversation (whether it was their point or not) was that even if you don't get out of a project what you thought you would get out at the beginning, maybe you got _something_ out of it anyway? If you set out to build a model ship, and at the end you have a hot-glued mess of plastic, maybe along the way you at least learned a bit about model painting?

I had another discussion, this time in a channel with many friends, centered on someone's dream, which was about "The Dance of Unease". In this dream, everyone started a new hobby and showed all their terrible ugly progress for the first week. It sounded to me like an accountability-circle, and reminded me of my time in a woodworking classroom. We'd bring our half-finished half-baked ideas and the other students would critique them—as often as not giving encouragement ("wow, I can see what you're going for and it's really cool. Keep going!").
